Kano Governor Abba Kabir Extends Appreciation to Tinubu and Shettima for Non-Interference in Supreme Court Victory

In the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s revalidation of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir’s election, the governor has publicly expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for maintaining a non-interference stance in the legal battle.
In a statement released by the Director of Public Enlightenment at the Kano Government House, Aliyu Yusuf, Governor Kabir commended the two national leaders for their principled approach amid alleged pressures from various quarters.
“As a true democrat and progressive, I call on my opponent and his supporters to join hands with me in the crusade of developing our dear state, Kano, for the betterment of its teeming indigenes,” stated Governor Kabir. He emphasized the need for visionary leadership and called on the people of Kano to unite for the state’s progress.

The governor expressed satisfaction with the dignified conduct of President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima, recognizing their decision not to involve themselves in the apex court judgment despite purported pressure from disgruntled quarters. The statement highlighted Kabir’s commitment to inclusive governance and his call for collective efforts towards the state’s development.
“Alhaji Abba Kabir thanked Almighty Allah, the most exalted for the victory. He also commends the people of Kano for their support, steadfastness, prayers, sacrifices, and brevity, as well as the Supreme Court judges for upholding the glory of the judiciary,” the statement further added.
Acknowledging the role of political leaders and supporters, Kabir expressed his appreciation for the guidance and support received during the challenging legal period. He specifically mentioned Sen Rabi’u Kwankwaso, the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, and NNPP leaders at all levels for their unwavering support.
