KUMBOWEI KINGDOM: Royal Stool Debunks Allegation Of Political Affiliation

The Royal stool and council of chiefs in the Kumbowei kingdom of sagbama local government area of the state, have issued a great warning to one Mr. Jonah Abeki who has mislead the public by a news publication stating that HRM Sufadoh B. Sufadoh, Embareba V Pere of Kumbowei Kingdom alongside other chiefs were suspended by the APC.

In a statement signed by Chief Michael Amboro, Secretary, Kumbowei Council Of Chiefs and Chief (Honourable) Abraham Ekisah Sinkumo, Spokesman, Kumbowei Council Of Chiefs, notes with great displeasure of the ugly act of ridiculing the traditional stool which is revered by many for its advisory role played in time past.

The statement reads: “The Kumbowei Clan Council of Chiefs has stated that its attention has been drawn to a media report circulating on some radio stations and social media platforms made by one Mr Jonah Abeke, supposed chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Sagbama Local Government Chapter claiming that Pere Boloyi Sufadoh among other chieftains was suspended for anti-party activities in a statement signed by Chief Michael Amboro, the secretary of the Kumbowei kingdom council of chiefs and Chief Ekisah Sinkumo, the spokesman of the council.

The council expresses its need to address the public, Mr. Jonah Abeke, and his associates.

The council clarified that HRM Sufadoh B. Sufadoh, Embareba V Pere of Kumbowei Kingdom who was mentioned in the publication as high chief Boloyi Sufadoh is not a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC). According to the statement, at no time has their revered monarch been addressed as High Chief, before ascending the throne, he was usually addressed as Prince Boloyi Sufadoh the son of their late King, he ascended the throne following the passing of his father.

The statement further noted that since King Boloyi Sufadoh ascended the throne as Embareba V. Pere of Kumbowei Kingdom, referring to him as a high chief is an insult to the King, the royal stool, the kingdom, and the entire people of Kumbowei both in Bayelsa and Delta State.

The statement emphasizes that as the traditional head of the Kumbowei kingdom and the first-class traditional ruler, the monarch severed tides with all political parties before his coronation as such he remains non-partisan.

The council described Mr Jonah Abeke’s claims that their revered King is not a member of the APC or any other political party as derogatory and an insult to the people of Kumbowei Kingdom. He demand a public apology from the author of the news item both in writing and addressed to the royal stool and the people of Kumbowei Kingdom within seven days of this report.

The council stresses that failure to issue a public apology within the stipulated period of seven days will result in legal action for damages”.

By this General public should note that the Said Mr Jonah Abeki will face legal actions from the Royal stool of Kumbowei clan for defamation if he doesn’t apologize within Seven days.

The Kumbowei kingdom in sagbama local government area will continue without political affiliation to advise and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to bring about development to the kingdom and the state at large.
