In recent operations, the Joint Military Taskforce in the North-East named “Operation Hadinkai” apprehended sixty terrorists and over 120 suspected terrorists, TrackNews reports.

The Joint Military Taskforce also rescued three more Chibok girls kidnapped by Boko Haram from the Government Girls Secondary School Chibok in Borno State in 2024.

Major General Christopher Musa, the theatre Commander, announced this on Friday during a press conference at the army’s headquarters in Maiduguri.

“What we intend to do as part of our kinetic and non-kinetic efforts is to deny them the ability to get logistics that keeps them going,” says the theater Commander. In order to effectively strangle the terrorists, troops have increased their efforts to intercept their logisticians and supply in order to deny them vital logistics.”

He explained that a typical example is the arrest on July 13, 2022, of Haruna Fulani and Umaru, who were suspected logistics suppliers to the terrorists’ Commander, Aliyu Ngolde, in the Mandara Mountains Gwoza general area.

Among the items recovered were 13 bundles of women’s wrappers, 20 yards of black cotton, women’s underwear, and 25 pairs of rubber shoes, according to him.

According to him, between June 27 and July 25, the troops rescued three Chibok girls, including Ruth Bitrus, Karuna Luka with a child, and Hannatu Musa with two children.

TrackNews recalls that in April 2014, Boko Haram abducted 276 female students from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, ages 16 to 18.
