Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

The Lagos Ministry of Transportation has outright forbidden the M.O.T Taskforce’s enforcement actions. According to a statement published by Mr. Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, the choice was made after a thorough study and review of the enforcement teams working under the Ministry of Transportation. Giwa emphasized that the restriction is a part of steps taken to streamline transport enforcement actions in Lagos State to achieve the necessary effectiveness in accordance with international best practices. She cautioned, however, that the ban is not a justification for drivers to violate State traffic regulations.

” The Special Adviser emphasized that the enforcement strategy had been changed to enhance service delivery to the State’s inhabitants and claimed that traffic management and transportation are an essential part of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration’s T.H.E.M.E.S. Agenda. He therefore pleaded with the populace to alert the Ministry of Transportation of any illegal enforcement unit still utilizing the moniker M.O.T Taskforce so that they may be tried.

The Special Adviser provided an assurance that significant work is being done behind the scenes to bring about the much-needed transformation in the transportation industry, according to the statement. He urged residents of Lagos to assist the State Government in efforts to improve traffic conditions throughout the city.
