Dr. Dele Oluwatade, a cleric, advised President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday to consider restructuring the country and stop borrowing from China, claiming that a restructured Nigeria can survive the debt burden and economic hardships that the country is facing.

Speaking to reporters in Benin City, Oluwatade, a medical doctor and the President of the City Gate Elders Parliament, expressed concern about recent events in the country, which he blamed on poor leadership.

Oluwatade expressed concern about atrocities in the country, including nepotism, racial discrimination, widespread murder, rape, kidnapping, and banditry, and called for immediate action to address them for the security and protection of Nigerians.

Oluwatade lamented the massive debt burden imposed by the country’s borrowing from foreign countries, particularly China, saying, “This is a generational burden you have placed on Nigerians.” My message is to help you gain, redeem your image, and bring something good out of His Excellency that your ancestors will be proud of, and that all Nigerians will forgive and love you for.

“Get rid of the hassle of borrowing to pay salaries.” Nigeria, restructured, will and can survive the debt burden. “This press conference has been called to assist you in sharing the burden of governance in order to keep Nigeria together,” Oluwatade stated.
