Kachallah Mai Daji, responsible for killing dozens and kidnapping hundreds, apprehended while attempting to rustle livestock across the border
Security forces in the Niger Republic have successfully captured Kachallah Mai Daji, a notorious Nigerian terrorist kingpin, according to Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad basin.
Mai Daji’s reign of terror spanned nearly a decade, during which he killed dozens, burnt down villages, kidnapped hundreds, and imposed levies on villages.

Captured at Illela near the Nigeria-Niger Republic border, Mai Daji was attempting to rustle livestock through the border when apprehended.His reign of terror affected numerous villages in the North East of Illela, including Tozai, Sabon Garin Darna, Darna Tsolawo, Tudun Gudali, Basanta, Ɗan Kadu, Takalmawa, Gidan Hamma, Ambarura, and Gidan Bulutu.
Mai Daji’s Capture: A Significant Victory
Mai Daji’s capture marks a significant victory for security forces in the region, as he was a key figure in terrorist activities in the Lake Chad basin.
His apprehension is expected to bring relief to the affected communities and contribute to the overall security of the region.
