The Indigenous People of Biafra have stated that they are aware of an alleged plot by men from the Department of State Services to assassinate their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

This came as the group blamed the UK for the long-term incarceration of the IPOB leader, claiming that the goal was to stymie Biafra’s liberation.

Emma Powerful, the IPOB’s Director of Media and Publicity, stated this in a statement yesterday.

The group expressed concern about the recent spate of jailbreaks in the country while the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, retd, was in office, calling the ugly trend a sign of a failed nation.

The information, according to the group, was revealed by its Intelligence arm, the M-Branch.

“We, the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra, under the command and leadership of our great leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wish to reiterate our earlier emphasis on the intended make-believe plan to attack the DSS facility in Abuja by already drawn-up stunt actors (the DSS agents) at the very location where our leader, Mazi Nnamdi, is incarcerated, having successfully tested such plans with Kuje Prisons without consequences,” the statement read in part.

“The Nigerian government devised the plan with strategic and tactical input from the UK government.” The reason for the UK and Nigeria’s alliance in such a cowardly and evil plan is their disdain for indigenous peoples around the world enjoying freedom in the same way that the British are enjoying Brexit from the European Union.

“This alliance sees Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as a stumbling block to their modern-day oppressive tendencies and, as such, wants him dead, having tried several unsuccessful attempts in Afaraukwu, London, the United States, Kenya, and even Abuja, where Chukwu Okike Abiama has always proven himself.” The IPOB intelligence unit, the M. Branch, intercepted this purported plan by Britain and Nigeria to halt Biafra agitation and independence from Nigeria, and Nigeria and its allies have decided to replicate what they did in 1967-1970 and are still on their way to do it again against the innocent citizens of Biafra. The rest of the world should take notice.

“The world should take notice because if anything bad happens to our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, while he is in the custody of the DSS, nobody should blame IPOB for the unavoidable and uncontrollable boundless calamitous consequences that would befall anyone.” Know that your silence hardens our resolve to pursue this great nation known as Biafra. Because there is no safe prison in the south for our leader, IPOB demands his unconditional release. As a result, we still require his unconditional release in order to avoid the risky terms that IPOB may adopt against Nigeria.”

It went on to say, “There have been numerous jailbreaks in Nigeria since Buhari and his APC party took power, and nothing has been done.”

The number of prison breaks was so alarming that no country in history had seen anything like it.

“Records of) jailbreaks (so far) are as follows: (1): September 3, 2015, in Sokoto Remand Home, 13 inmates escaped; (2) October, 2017, Enugu Maximum Prison, 2 inmates escaped; (3) December 27, 2017, Ikot Ekpene Prison attacked, 47 inmates escaped; (4) June 4, 2018, Minna Maximum Security Prison, 240 inmates escaped; and (5) October 19, 2020, Oko Prison in Edo attacked and many (6) On October 21, 2020, 1,993 inmates escaped from the two facilities at Benin Prison; (7) On October 22, 2020, 58 inmates were released at Okitipupa Prison. (9) September 13, 2021, Kabba prison break, Kogi, 240 inmates freed; (10) October 22, 2021, Abolongo Prison, Oyo, 837 inmates escaped. (12) November 28, 2021 – Jos Medium Security Prison attacked, 262 inmates released, 10 killed; (11) July 19, 2021 – Jos Maximum Security Prison attacked, inmates escaped; (3) Three inmates escaped from Mandala Prison in Ilorin on January 2, 2022. (14) On May 13, 2022, the fence at Agbor Prison in Delta State collapsed, allowing three inmates to escape; (15) On July 4, 2022, the Kuje Prison in Abuja was attacked, allowing 856 inmates to escape.

“All these prison breaks, and Buhari and his government never found out why or brought the perpetrators or attackers to justice.” As a result, we want them to unconditionally release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because his life in DSS custody is in danger, and they will attack there and blame it on bandits and terrorists.

“We urge the British Government to drop pretense and direct the Nigerian Government to unconditionally release Nnamdi Kanu or send him back to the UK where he lives, or for him to return to Amechi Mbazuluike or Professor George Obiozor for his safety.”
