Ogun Police Speak On Arresting MAPOLY Student For Buying Pregnancy Strip And Contraceptives
Security operatives of the Ogun State police command have denied arresting a MAPOLY student, Olanipekun Oladayo for buying pregnancy strip and contraceptives.
Oladayo’s sister had earlier stated via Twitter that her sister had been apprehended for buying contraceptives.
She wrote: “My sister, a student of Mapoly just got arrested for going to buy postpill and pregnancy strip. She’s at a police post in Abeokuta.”
She later revealed in subsequent tweets that the police had released her and arrested the pharmacist who sold the drugs to her.
“Please help oooo, she just told me they’ve gone to arrest the pharmacist that sold them to her,” she added.
Speaking on the accusations against them, the state police command PRO, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said they had only taken her into custody to question if she had a doctor’s prescription.
In other news, a Canada-based Nigerian medical doctor, Efe Ovueni, has been suspended for three months for unprofessional conduct.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) tribunal, on Thursday disclosed this after the hearing.
According to reports, the doctor was said to have hugged a medical officer staff member and blown her a kiss without her consent on January 21, 2020. Read more
