Police start a probe after cult members kill two people in Bayelsa.
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
The murder of two people in the State by suspected cult members is being investigated by the Bayelsa Police Command.
The incident happened in the Yenagoa Local Government Area’s Ogbogoro neighborhood two days ago.
It was learned that Tuesday Fati, 30, and Famizibe Clarkson, 25, were killed by suspected cult members in their homes in the neighborhood.
Police in Imo detain six suspected bandits, according to reports. The command’s spokesman, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident.
Butswat said in a statement on Saturday that an investigation into the disaster has been launched by the command to determine what exactly caused the deaths.
“The deceased identified as one Tuesday Fati, aged 30, and one Famizibe Clarkson, aged 25, were murdered inside their flat at Ogbogboro community, Yenagoa on August 12, 2022, at approximately 0330 hours,” he added.
The victims were killed in what looks to be suspected cult activities, according to the preliminary investigation. The bodies were taken away and deposited at the Federal Medical Center’s mortuary in Yenagoa for an autopsy.
