Saraki Donates N10m to 630 Flood Victims in Kwara
WORRIED by the current plight of the victims of flood disaster in his senatorial district, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, thursday, distributed cash gifts to 630 victims so as to bring new lease of life to the affected victims.
Saraki who represents the Kwara central senatorial district of the state dolled out the total sum of N10 million to the beneficiaries at a brief ceremony at his campaign office in Ilorin.
Saraki provided the succour for the victims without any political consideration or party affiliation.
The Senate President had in the wake of the flood disaster accommodated hundreds of victims in his expansive constituency office in Ilorin, and provided relief materials for them.
Distributing the cash gifts to the victims on behalf of the Senate President, the Director General of ABS Constituency Office, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi said Sarakiโs gesture was without any political consideration.
โOur political leader and Senate President deemed it fit to assist the recent flood victims across Kwara central without minding which political part they belong.
โSaraki is passionate about the wellbeing and welfare of his people as their leader, hence, his decision to assist the flood victims,โ Abdullahi said.
He, however, asked the beneficiaries to reciprocate the Senate Presidentโs kind gesture by voting for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2019 presidential elections.
Adding that Saraki is always prepared to assist the people of the state through the provision of basic infrastructure and human capital development, Abdullahi urged the beneficiaries to ensure the victory of the Senate Presidentโs party at the poll to enable him continue to dish out more democracy dividends to the people of the state.
Responding, two of the beneficiaries, Alhaji Yusuf Jimoh and Alhaja Adijat Baki thanked Saraki for his kind gesture.
The duo who said Saraki was the only politician that cared for them immediately after the flood disaster, promised to reciprocate by mobilising their families and wards to cast their vote for the PDP in next yearโs elections.
