Staff of Radio Bayelsa, RATTAWU & NUJ Met With Labour Commissioner Over Discrepancies Related To Paid Promotion Arrears.
The Honorable Commissioner for Labour, Employment and Productivity Bayelsa State, Hon. Odoko Saturday Omiloli, has appealed to aggrieved staff of Radio Bayelsa to remain calm and maintain a peaceful working environment as their complaints would be addressed by the government in no distant time.
The Commissioner made the appeal during a meeting with the State and Radio Bayelsa leadership and members of the Radio Television Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), in his office on Tuesday, 13th August, 2024.
The unions brought before the Honourable Commissioner complaints regarding discrepancies arising from paid promotion arreas of their staff from 2015-2018.
After listening to the complaints, the commissioner admonished leaders of the unions and staff to stay calm and avoid actions that would further aggravate and over flood the issue.
Hon Odoko said he would convey their grievances to his Excellency the State Governor and revert back to them duly.
He assured that the issue would be properly investigated and settled by the government
as he encouraged everyone involved to maintain decorum.
