Comrade Timi Frank, a former APC deputy national publicity secretary, congratulated Mr. William Ruto, the country of Kenya’s incoming president.

In a statement released in Abuja, Frank praised the Kenyan people for their calm demeanor throughout the presidential election and for casting their ballots for change in the East African nation.

He urged people to support Ruto, who stands for a full break from the nation’s long-standing system of political succession, which had seemed to be limited to the descendants of prior presidents who had fought for the nation’s independence.

In order to quell the pockets of unrest in some regions of the nation, Frank, who serves as the United Liberation Movement for West Papua’s (ULMWP) ambassador to East Africa and the Middle East, also urged Kenya’s outgoing president, Uhuru Kenyatta, to urgently start a peace and reconciliation process among the major players during the election.

He encouraged him to formally congratulate Ruto in line with the model set by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

The “Hustler-In-Chief-of-Kenya” has been chosen by the people of Kenya to serve as their future president, he declared. So let the people’s will have the last say.

“Kenya needs peace to advance, and President Kenyatta can play a significant role in bringing the groups involved in the electoral crisis to the negotiating table, just as he did during the previous election, the results of which were hotly contested.

“Since Kenya is a peaceful society, political actors must avoid taking any actions that could cause an unnecessary political crisis after Ruto assumes the presidency.

“Let the votes count. Ruto’s election signals a new political era for Kenya.

“On his part, the President-elect must be gracious in victory by promptly contacting his rivals and assuring them of his willingness to cooperate with them for the benefit of the nation’s overall peace and progress.

We also urge Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate of the opposition political party, to call his followers to order if necessary in the interest of maintaining peace for Kenyans as a whole.

If he believes there were irregularities during the voting process that may have prevented him from winning, let him seek the appropriate court to contest the results of the poll.

Frank also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of Nigeria to take a page from its Kenyan counterpart, which bravely pronounced Ruto the winner of the election despite not taking into account the country’s existing power structures.
