Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

It has been requested that the federal government respond to the Niger Republic’s claim that it never received a vehicle from the federal government of Nigeria, either for security operations or any other reason.

It should be recalled that Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, reportedly acknowledged the federal government’s release of N1.4 billion for the purchase of automobiles for the neighboring Niger Republic in order to improve their local security.

Alhaji Musa Saidu, who serves as the International Human Rights Commission’s Coordinator and Special Envoy for Ecology and Marine Africa, claimed that as a global rights activist, he has received several calls from around the world regarding the problem.

He added that the world was waiting for the federal government to immediately put an end to the claim made by the Niger republic.

He advised President Muhammadu Buhari to undertake a full probe into the situation without holding back to make sure the truth was revealed.

“I have previously stated that supporting neighbors in their efforts to combat terrorism is a good thing since we can stop it from spreading to our nation in this way. Cross-border crime must be combated together.

There was a rumor that the Nigerian government had issued funds for the purchase of security cars to help the neighboring Niger Republic fight instability, but the Niger Republic administration has now stepped forward to deny receiving any funding from the federal government. This is concerning.

“We’d like to hear from the federal government about this money. What happened to the money that the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning purportedly released and confirmed to have released?

“This problem needs to be fixed. We want the authorities to look into what took place.

“This is not a trivial issue. What is the actual situation now given the criticism Mr. President has received over the supposed donation? Who is lying, and who is being deceitful?

The money, according to the Hon. Minister, was taken out of her office. What happened to the funds, then? It needs to be thoroughly investigated. Here is where journalists should step in to conduct in-depth investigative reporting.

The government has the power to solve this problem. People in the Niger Republic are responding to the situation.

Alkassoum Indatou, the Niger Republic’s Minister of Defense, had previously stated that the country had not received any vehicles from the Nigerian federal government, but claimed that the Maradi region had received four Hilux vehicles from the Zamfara state government for use in security operations.

He emphasized that the country hadn’t received any vehicles from the Nigerian federal government and that the region was still waiting on another Hilux from Zamfara to complete the five reportedly promised to the area by the Zamfara administration.
