TRADE UNION CONGRESS (TUC) HOLDS HER PUBLIC LECTURE AND AWARDS NIGHT(MAIDEN EDITION)

Trade Union Congress (TUC), at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall, Government House, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State; had her public lecture and award night; first of its kind that gathered all sister/union bodies, civil servants and stake holders directly involved in revenue generation and collection in Bayelsa State in their numbers on this august event.

It was a time to reflect on the year and project into 2022. In attendance was the Bayelsa State Governor, well represented by his Deputy; Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo who pointed out that the challenges of leakages in internally generated revenue is a great source of concern to the state; lamenting on the low internal generated revenue profile of the state and urged all stakeholders, union bodies etc to see the task of blocking the existing leakages in the system as a collective responsibility that must be done in the interest of the state.

He further commended the Trade Union Congress(TUC) and other Labour Unions for their patience and understanding in the face of the current harsh economic conditions in the country.

Also in attendance was, Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Bayelsa State Council led by her State Chairman, Chief Oyinkuro Ifie Ereboh; while addressing the press, commended the Governor Douye Diri-led Administration, the Honourable Commisioner of Transport, Grace Ekiotenne for the giant strides and strong desire for growth in Bayelsa State, most especially in the transpoprt sector; taking it to another crescendo in a short period of time.

Chief Oyinkuro Ifie Ereboh further express his gratitude to the Trade Union Congress (TUC) leadership; Comrade Julius Laye for working tirelessly round the clock to ensure that its objectives are met in the state and for strengthening the synergy between other union bodies and Bayelsa State Government. “in conclusion we will take home the advice of the State Governor, identify the leakages and see how these existing leakages can be blocked and the internal generated revenue can be improved”
