NFF waiting for FIFA grant to pay Super Falcons’ outstanding allowances

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has disclosed that it would pay all Super Falcons’ outstanding allowances once it gets the grants FIFA promised all the national teams participating in the ongoing Women’s World Cup holding in Australia and New Zealand.
Speaking from Australia yesterday, NFF’s Director of Media and Communications, Ademola Olajire, admitted that the federation still owed some of Super Falcons’ bonuses, which accrued before the World Cup, explaining that the body was going through severe financial problems.
“None of the teams in the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup have been paid allowances because FIFA has not disbursed any money. We have not paid the bonuses for some of the friendly games played in preparation for the World Cup because we don’t have enough money.
“The NFF needs more money to administer football in Nigeria because managing over nine national teams requires a lot of money. The NFF has not been finding it easy, but as soon as FIFA releases money for teams at the World Cup, we will settle the players’ bonuses.”
