Chief Johnny Warns Tinubu Not Re-appoint NDDC MD Chief Sam Ugbuku After His Tenure

A chieftain and leader of All Progressives Congress APC in Delta State Chief Michael Johnny, calls on the Federal government to initiate a new forensic audit of Niger Delta Development commission NDDC to include tenure of Dr. Sam Ogbuku; advises President Tinubu to hold on with approval of N1.5 trillion for Commission until completion of audit exercise

He also called on the National Assembly to extend the 2020 forensic Audit exercise on the spendings of allocations appropriated to the Niger Delta Development Commission, to the current NDDC board led by chief Samuel Ugbuku, this Chief Michael said will unravel the humungous corruption and fraud perpetrated by The Managing Director and board members which has brought misery and under development to the Niger Delta Region.

As a Concerned Niger Delta stakeholder and one who is aware of the corruption in the NDDC, Chief Michael Johnny, is advising President Bola Tinubu and National Assembly to stop Chief Samuel Ugbuku led NDDC board not to spend the 2024 budget, as their tenure will elapse September 2024, restricting their expending of the 2024 Budget will make funds available for the incoming administration to able to deliver the dividends of the board to the Oil rich Niger delta Region.

Recklessly undertaking on worthless projects with huge funding that has no bearing or direct impact in the lives of the Niger Delta people and consequently colluding with cronies accompanies hijacking juicy contracts and kickbacks inflated contract sum to the MD and board members. The Chief Samuel Ugbuku led NDDC administration has turned the once thriving board to a cash cow for selected few to feast on the common wealth of the Niger Delta region leaving the people in abject poverty and under development.

Against this backdrop chief Michael Johnny is warning president Tinubu and the National Assembly not to re-appoint the NDDC MD chief Samuel Ugbuku and any board member from this current administration after their tenure which will elapse in September 2024, as they have marred the NDDC with total corruption and apex level of fraudulent activities, diminishing the transparency, accountability and objectives of the establishment of the NDDC.

Recall that in 2020, drama ensued in the National Assembly when the then-acting managing Director MD, Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei, fainted during the interrogation by members of the house. Chief Michael Johnny believes that if similar forensic audit is carried out in the current NDDC administration, a lot of high flying feathers in the feast of the board treasures will be weakened and the corruption in the commission will be exposed to the world.
