RIVERS CRISIS: Ijaw Group Condemns Attack On INC President Benjamin Okaba

***As Group Insist INC Must Defend Ijaw Interest, Applauds Decision To Support Gov. Fubara

YENAGOA_____The IJAW progressives and development Forum IPDF a non governmental organization has condemned in strong terms the mischievous, sentimental and anti Ijaw progressive accusations of a faceless group “The Rivers Ijaw Peoples Congress (RIPCO)” which the group assert that the President of the Ijaw National Congress INC Prof. Benjamin Okaba chose to take side in the political crisis rocking Rivers state.

In a statement signed by the IPDF president Comrade Izonfadei Ebikefe said the INC is the umbrella body of the Ijaw nation and as such will defend the Ijaw interest at all times, which is not far from what the Prof Okaba did by supporting an Ijaw son who is the Governor of Rivers state Sir Sim Fubara.

The group said the situation in Rivers politics between Nyesom Wike and Sir Sim Fubara has ignited the interest of the Ijaw nation and as such the INC alongside other stakeholders, after critical assessment and consultation on the issue understood that the crisis in the oil rich state was a direct attack to the Ijaw nation hence the support for the governor of Rivers state.

Comrade Izonfadei Ebikefe further warned the Fake Ijaw group RIPCO who is unknown to anyone in the region to desist from acts that are capable of creating disunity among the Ijaws. He said the faceless group who clearly are carrying out the task of their pay master who is currently fighting governor Sim Fubara of Rivers state are only wasting their time, as the Ijaws are solidly behind INC president Prof Benjamin Okaba position in protecting the Ijaw interest above political sentiment.

The Ijaw progressives and Development Forum IPDF known for its continuous demand for a better deal for the Ijaw ethnic Nationality is by this, calling on the Ijaw national Congress INC, IYC, PANDEF, groups and stakeholders of the Ijaw Nation not to close their eyes to the injustice perpetrated by Nyesom Wike and his cronies against an Ijaw son who is the governor of Rivers state Sir Sim Fubara.

Comrade Izonfadei Ebikefe further called on youths of the Niger Region to shun the habit of betraying their brothers because of quick gains, as this has fast reduced the integrity of the region.
