Chairman of United Bank for Africa Group, Tony Elumelu, expressed his faith in divine favour for Super Eagles forward Moses Simon during the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Elumelu shared his sentiments while celebrating Ademola Lookman’s goal against Angola in the quarter-final clash. Simon provided the crucial assist for Lookman in Nigeria’s 1-0 victory.

“God will bless Simon. God will bless Simon,” Elumelu affirmed during the celebration, emphasizing the timing of the play just before half-time. He reiterated, “At the right time, just before half-time. God will bless Simon.”
Expressing his admiration for Lookman, Elumelu added, “Lookman is my man.”
As Nigeria advances to the semi-final, they await the winner between South Africa and Cape Verde on Wednesday.
