Nigeria Set To Establish Science And Technology Park

The Federal Ministry of Science, technology and innovation in Nigeria has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding for the development of Sciece and Technology Park with Across Atlantic Development United Kingdom, through the Private Public Partnership in Abuja the nation’s capital.
This is in line with achieving the development of Science and Technology in Nigeria.
While signing the MoU, the Minister of Science and Technology, Senator Adeleke Mamora, called for the urgent implementation of the project for the sake of the country’s development in areas of Science and Technology.
Senator Mamera promised to monitor the project to ensure that it is fully implemented even after leaving office.
“I must commend the initiative and the effort of Across Atlantic Development UK for this project in seeing that Nigeria has become a hub of Africa in areas of Science Technology and Innovation to compete with developed countries in the world.
Across Atlantic Development (AAD) is a global organisation that works with its network of member companies and other partners to build a just and sustainable world,which spans across Europe, Africa and North America,
Across Atlantic Development develops sustainable business strategies and solutions to global issues through dedicated research, advocacy/campaigns, consultation and collaboration with respect to Sustainable Development Goals,” he said.
The Chief Executive officer and the Founder of the Across Atlantic Development UK,Mr, David Apollus said the aim of the project was to transform Nigeria into an innovation hub of Africa, where technological equipments and machines would be manufacturing in Nigeria for domestic purpose and export like every other developed nation.
Mr, Apollus also assured the Nigerian government of their commitment to ensuring that the project achieves the desired goals, adding Nigeria will become a centre of Science and innovation.
After the signing of the MoU, a Ground Breaking Ceremony of the National Science Park and Science Mesuem Centre was held at Kwali Local Government Area of the nation’s capital where the Project will commence in no distant time.
The Park is situated at Sheda Science and Technology Complex in Kwali Area Council where the indigenous Technology products will be kept for exhibitions and development of more innovations across the Country.
The Science Park is expected to provide facilities for research and development at the highest possible level in the basic and applied science to the entire scientific community of the country and to develop result of research for economic and social development in Nigeria.
