Nigerian Air Force Strikes 5 Terrorist Gun Trucks in Borno
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has destroyed five terrorist gun trucks at two locations in Tumbuns on the fringes of Lake Chad in Borno State.
NAF Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet said the strikes were carried out between September 27 and September 30, 2023, after intelligence reports confirmed that the terrorists were using the locations as logistics bases and to launch attacks on military formations and civilians.
At Tumbun Fulani, NAF aircraft struck a location where terrorists were observed loading jerricans into two gun trucks concealed under shrubs. The strike destroyed the gun trucks and killed several terrorists.
Similar strikes were carried out at Tumbun Shitu, where NAF aircraft destroyed three gun trucks and killed several terrorists.
The strikes are part of the ongoing “Operation Hadin Kai” to defeat Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in the Northeast.
The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) has reiterated its commitment to significantly limit the activities of terrorists in the Northeast and other parts of Nigeria.
