Nigerian polo fraternity rallies behind Tinubu/Shettima.

Top Nigerian polo patrons and players are gathering in Abuja for a historic polo tournament to support the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, ahead of the 2023 General Elections.
The Arewa consolidated Agenda, (ACAT)-a registered Tinubu Support Organization actively galvanizing support for the APC Presidential candidate throughout the Northern part of the country-is organizing tomorrow’s event at the serene Rubicon Polo & Turf Club in the Federal Capital City, dubbed “Ride For Victory.”
According to ACAT Chairman Aliyu Hassan Hadejia, the organization and Rubicon Polo Turf are inviting all support groups, polo buffs, and the general public to what promises to be the biggest polo fiesta yet, hosted by the high-profile polo arena.
He stated that the tournament’s purpose was not only to provide an avenue for ACAT to interact with the public and explain the Tinubu/Shettima agenda, but also to promote peace and unity in order to ensure a peaceful election in 2023.
“There is no doubt that the political space in Nigeria is in full bloom,” he said, adding that it is ACAT’s responsibility to use this polo tournament to rally support for our popular candidate as we ride to victory at the national polls.
“We also want to use the noble game of polo to draw the teeming polo lovers across the country to ride for Tinubu/Shetimma victory early next year,” Hadejia said ahead of the tournament.
The former captain of Kaduna Polo Club listed the Cups to be contested, which included the Tinubu/Shettima Cup and the Rubicon Cup, respectively, as well as a slew of individual prizes for the best performers.
Seyi Tinubu, patron of the Lagos-based STL polo team, and Murtala Laushi, patron of the Jos-based Malcomines team, are among the elite Nigerian polo players who will compete for high stakes.
The STL Polo boss will lead the Shettima squad, which includes Hamisu Buba, Idris Badamasi, and Jamilu Mohammed from the Chicago Boys, while Murtala Laushi has been named to lead the Jagaban squad, which includes Bashir Bashir Dantata, Mustapha Junaid, and Abdulmalik Badamasi in the winners-take-all High-goal cup.
The APC Presidential candidate and his running mate are also expected to lead party chieftains to the event, including APC Presidential Campaign Committee members, Deputy National Chairman North, Senator Abubakar Kyari, and all APC Governors from across the country.
Members of the APC’s National Working Committee, Alhaji Musa Halilu (The Dujumma Adamawa), first class emirs from the north, and royal fathers from the south are also expected.
Mr. Wale Edun, Patron of Good Fellows Polo Team and APC chieftain, Saliu Mustapha (Turakin Ilorin), Alhaji Umar Abdullahi (CEO Cossgrove), Kunle Soname of Betnaija, business gurus, and members of the diplomatic corps are among those invited.
