Festus Keyamo, the spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, has said Nigerians cannot afford to make President Muhammadu Buhari lose the February 2019 election since he has delivered on his promises.
Tracknews.ng understands that Keyamo spoke at the launch of APC’s ‘Next Level’ in Ghana, saying the administration of Buhari had beaten expectations.
The Nation reports Keyamo as saying the administration had awarded N58 billion contract for the dualisation of the Calabar-Itu road, as well as the rehabilitation of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The report quoted a statement as saying Keyamo also listed the ongoing construction of the second Niger bridge, the implementation of school feeding programme across the country, employment of cooks and food suppliers and the feeding of millions of children daily, as among the achievements of the Buhari administration.
According to Keyamo, Buhari has also done well with the N-power as millions of unemployed graduates received N30,000 each every month.
He further highlighted the prosecution of corrupt government officials by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as one of the reasons the president should be re-elected at the event that was chaired by the head of the APC Ghana chapter, Charles Micheletti.
Tracknews.ng earlier reported that Ajibola Famurewa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Osun East senatorial district, said the party will ensure victory for President Muhammadu Buhari in February 16 presidential election.
Famurewa gave the assurance at a news conference in Obokun, Osun, on Tuesday, January 22, NAN reports. He said that the president had performed excellently in office to win the election in the state and other parts of the country.
The senatorial candidate said the president had provided better alternative on a national scale to the maladministration of the previous years by clear-cut vision and mission of “rebuilding the fallen walls” of the country.
It also reported that an aide to Nigeria’s former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, declared that his principal will soon commence foreign trips in his bid to ensure that Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP, wins the forthcoming 2019 election.
Obasanjo’s aide, the former president will be visiting leading countries and international organisations such as the United States, and the United Nations “where he will appeal to them to take special interest in the election.
Speaking on why Obasanjo has not been visible at the rallies of Atiku as he has always done with former candidates he endorsed, the aide said Obasanjo believes Atiku has the support of Nigerians already.
