Nnamdi Kanu’s Special Counsel Reacts As Justice Nyako Denies Bail

Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Aloy Ejimakor has expressed sadness after Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court denied the IPOB leader bail.
Tracknews reports that Justice Nyako adjourned the case of the pro-Biafra activist till 14 November 2022, pending the determination of the Appeal Court.
It was gathered that Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team will approach the Court of Appeal following his bail denial by the High Court.
Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, is being tried over alleged running a proscribed group, treason and jumping bail.
Reacting to the development, Barr Aloy Ejimakor, via his Twitter handle expressed sadness over the judge’s refusal to grant the embattled IPOB leader bail.
He further added that Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court said she is open to considering a new application for bail.
Ejimakor tweeted, “Sadly, the judge has denied bail to #MNK on grounds that ‘for 4 years, nothing was filed’ in her court to explain why Onyendu did not attend his trial. She said she is open to considering a new application for bail, and she granted a stay of the criminal proceedings.”
