No facemask, no voting in Ondo – PTF

TRACKING___The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has warned voters without facemasks would not be allowed to perform their civic responsibility during Ondo governorship election on Saturday.
National Coordinator of the PTF, Dr Sani Aliyu, disclosed this on Thursday during the task force’s media briefing in Abuja.
The National Coordinator said all voters, candidates and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials would be required to honour the various anti-COVID-19 guidelines in place for elections.
He said Nigeria cannot afford to lose gains made in the response efforts during the election.
According to him, the process would be protected from the spread of the virus, saying personal protective equipment would be provided for electoral officers, just as all the materials to be used and as well as the voting environment would be properly disinfected.
He charged candidates and officials of the 17 political parties to take part in the election to lead by example during the exercise.
