The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWI-CAN) in the 19 Northern States and Abuja has warned Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong, Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, that they are prepared to go all out against the APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket (APC).

In a strong worded press release signed by its Chairman, Evangelist Musa D Misal, and Secretary, Sarafa Adekunle Oyewo, and sent to our correspondent in Gombe, the youths who rejected the APC’s Tinubu/Shettima ticket in all its ramifications promised to mobilize their teaming members to distance themselves from what they described as a “evil and satanic plot to Islamize Nigeria.”

They urged all Northern APC Christian members to withdraw their support for Tinubu/candidacy and urged the chairman of the Northern Governor’s Forum to convene a meeting of all Northern APC Christian members to chart a course of action or risk being labeled a puppet of the Hausa/Fulani oligarchy. “We urge our father, Rt Hon. Simon Bako Lalong, Executive Governor of Plateau State and Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, to call a meeting of all APC Northern Christians to chart a way forward, or else he will be seen as a puppet of the Hausa/Fulani oligarchy,” they say.

They were surprised by the selection of Senator Kashim Shettima as Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s running mate, despite strong opposition from well-meaning Nigerians of both faiths.

“Now that the dice has been thrown and the APC has come out to tell us that there is no credible and competent northern Christian worthy of being Vice President of Nigeria,” the YOWI-CAN group said.

“Furthermore, we will ensure that we strategize and protect the votes so that the evil plotters do not rig the elections,” according to the press release. I can assure you that we have millions of voters who can make a difference.

“We urge our northern APC Christian politicians to take the honorable path and immediately withdraw their support for Tinubu and his running mate.”

“Finally, we will resist this unnecessary provocation of the northern Christian people in all legally permissible ways, and we will mobilize against any northern Christian who still sees a future in the Tinubu/Kashim ticket,” it promised.
