NSCDC expresses readiness to arrest, prosecute people with fake money

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has expressed its determination to continue to arrest and prosecute those producing and circulating fake redesigned Naira notes in the country.
Ahmed Audi, the Commandant-General of the corps, lamented that the number of those involved in the circulation of the fake money was disturbing, saying the corps would not relent in freeing the society of fake money.
He called on those involved in such acts to desist, assuring that the corps would continue to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators in every nook and cranny of the country.
The Commandant-General of the corps said, “In less than a month, the corps had arrested and seized fake Naira notes worth millions from members of syndicates in different states in the country.”
He opined that the alleged fraudsters took advantage of the low circulation of the redesigned Naira notes to massively produce counterfeit notes.
Ahmed Audi said the arrest of the syndicates would help the corps fish out more criminals who have decided to take advantage of the economic situation in the country to scam people.
He enjoined Nigerians to be very vigilant and avoid being victims of fraudsters by ensuring they transact with banks, especially when large sums were involved
