Nyesom Wike, former governor of Rivers state, says decisions taken by President Bola Tinubu have shown that he’s prepared for the job.

TrackNews had reported that President Tinubu met with Wike, Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo state, and James Ibori, former governor of Delta state, on Friday at the Aso Villa.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Wike said the visit was to indicate their support for Tinubu and all his decisions.
“There’s no big deal about it, the governor of Oyo has told you what we came to do; to give him support. We are supporting all the decisions he’s taking, it shows that he’s prepared for the job and there’s nothing bad about that,” he said.
“It requires tough decisions for a country to move forward.”
Makinde, on his part, said the subsidy removal was a tough decision, adding that the president has started the administration on a good note.
Speaking on whether the fuel subsidy issue was raised at the meeting, the Oyo governor said: “Yes, we discussed it. It’s something that is on top of public discussion right now.”
“We know it’s a tough decision for the people and he needs the support of everybody to see this through.”
He called on Nigerians to support the subsidy removal policy.
