Obasanjo Will Be Convinced To Support Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign – Ogunlewe

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Former Works Minister Adeseye Ogunlewe expressed optimism on Tuesday that former President Olusegun Obasanjo will support the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
There had been speculation in recent weeks that the elder statesman might back Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
On several occasions, the former president met with the former governor of Anambra State.
This comes just days after Obasanjo denied endorsing Tinubu in the run-up to the 2023 presidential election.
According to reports, Yoruba elders will implore Obasanjo to back Tinubu’s presidential bid.
He stated that the first step is to canvass their support and inform Obasanjo that Tinubu is superior to other presidential candidates.
The former minister described Obasanjo as a reasonable man who will follow Tinubu if he is persuaded and shown what he is capable of.
“It is when your stuff is low that he cannot support you,” Ogunlewe explained. You must match his intelligence, because the Obasanjo I know will never blindly follow you.
“There is no sentiment in re-electing our leaders. We’ve done enough experimenting. Countries that were on the same level as us 20 years ago are now far ahead of us.”
Ogunlewe stated that someone must restore Nigeria’s glory, warning that if the wrong person is elected in 2023, the country will suffer.
“I am so optimistic that with a president like Bola Tinubu selecting the best team, Nigeria’s lost glory will be restored,” he added.
