Obaseki’s Chief of Staff, Senator Domingo Obende in N100m bribe scandal.
TRACKING____The Chief of Staff to Edo State Governor, Mr. Taiwo Akerele and a former Senator of the Republic of Nigeria, Deacon Domingo Obende have been named in a N100 million bribe scandal, it was learnt.
The duo, acting on the instruction of their paymaster, Governor Godwin Obaseki, allegedly offered the slush sums to a member of the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress to effect the removal of the National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, it emerged.
Our source said the NEC member collected the sum of 275,000 dollars with naira equivalent put at N100million from Edo House Abuja, through Senator Domingo Obende.
However, when the plot to remove the APC National Chairman failed, Governor Obaseki and his aides ran to security agents in Abuja where they asked for the refund of the money.
The NEC member was arrested as requested by Senator Domingo Obende and the Chief of Staff to the governor, Taiwo Akerele.
