Morris Monye, the Director of Mobilization for the Obidient Movement, recently led a delegation to meet with the Emir of Kano, reaffirming the group’s commitment to national unity and inclusive governance. The visit was part of ongoing efforts to expand the movement’s reach and engage with key stakeholders in Northern Nigeria.
During the meeting, Monye and his team discussed issues related to national development, youth empowerment, and democratic participation. The Emir of Kano welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of peace, unity, and active political involvement in strengthening Nigeria’s democracy. He acknowledged the role of movements like the Obidient group in promoting civic engagement and governance reforms.
As part of the visit, Monye also joined supporters of the movement in Kano for Iftar, the evening meal to break the Ramadan fast. The gathering provided an opportunity to foster solidarity and strengthen community ties. Discussions at the event centered on the movement’s vision for a more transparent and accountable government.
Addressing supporters, Monye urged them to remain steadfast in their pursuit of good governance and national progress. He emphasized that the Obidient Movement is not just about politics but about nation-building and ensuring a better future for all Nigerians. He called for continued grassroots mobilization, particularly in Northern Nigeria, to ensure broader inclusivity in political discourse.
The visit is seen as a strategic step in strengthening the movement’s presence in the region, as Monye highlighted the importance of unity across ethnic and religious lines. He reiterated that Nigeria’s progress depends on collective action and governance driven by the people.
The event concluded with prayers for peace, stability, and prosperity. Supporters reaffirmed their commitment to the movement’s ideals, vowing to continue advocating for accountability and transparent leadership in the country.
