‘Obidients’ pay to march in Nasarawa for Peter Obi — Deji Adeyanju

On Saturday, a massive crowd gathered in Nasarawa state capital, Lafia, to support the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The party’s state chairman, Alexander Emmanuel, said the one-million-man march was intended to educate the people of the state about the importance of voting for credible leaders in next year’s elections, as well as to send a message to other political parties that claim the Labour Party lacks structure.

Speaking about the march, Obi said it was a symbol of Nigerian youths’ unwavering commitment to rescuing the country from bad governance.

Obi stated this on his verified Twitter account on Sunday, while praising the traders, commuters, artisans, and other Nigerians who participated in the march.

“I am sincerely encouraged by Nigerian youths’ unwavering commitment to the OBIdient movement, which is aimed at rescuing the nation from bad governance,” he said.

“The recent one million march undertaken by OBIdients in Nasarawa State is greatly appreciated by the OBIdient family.” It’s an important step toward reclaiming our country.

“Like them, I deeply appreciate every Nigerian who has continued to work in our country for the greater good.” I can assure you that our efforts will not be in vain.”

Meanwhile, Deji Adeyanju, a human rights activist, has responded to the march by claiming that Obi cannot win one-half of a local government area in the presidential election scheduled for Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Adeyanju, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain who has stated that he will not support any presidential candidate, also claimed that Nigerians who took to the streets for the march were paid.

On Sunday, he said this on his verified Twitter account.

“Sorry to break your hearts guys, but Peter Obi will not win even half of an LGA in Nasarawa after yesterday’s rally,” Adeyanju tweeted. You will be surprised to learn that 90% of those who came out to protest yesterday did so because they were paid to do so, and they will not vote for him. “Goodbye, Vawulence.”

Concerned Nigerians’ convener has always advocated for the collaboration of other presidential parties against the APC and PDP.
