Obi’s Petition Is Not Just About Tinubu Becoming President, It Is About Nigeria -Jimi Disu

In light of recent reports that a faction of the Labour Party is attempting to have Peter Gregory Obi’s petition challenging the results of the presidential elections on February 25 withdrawn, veteran journalist and public affairs commentator Jimi Disu has come forward to explain why Nigerians shouldn’t permit the case to be closed before a full trial.
Disu argued that the case no longer belongs to Obi alone but to Nigerians as a whole during an interview on Nigeria Info FM’s “Dailies Today” programme on Wednesday morning. She claimed that this is because decisions made regarding some of the petition’s contents will clarify the nation’s electoral procedures going forward.
“The ongoing conflict in the Labour Party is a filthy one, and I believe there has been some accommodation along the way,” he declared. You infiltrate your adversary’s camp as part of the political game in an effort to divert their attention. However, I doubt they will be successful in dropping the case, at least I hope not. For the purpose of informing individuals concerned in the petition that this matter concerns Nigeria. Now, it transcends Obi or Tinubu.
several disputes involving the legal interpretation of particular provisions of our electoral legislation. Additionally, it will sooth the nation. I want to beg the Labour Party section to prioritise Nigeria in their interactions. Imagine how people will respond if the case is successfully withdrawn.
