Ogun Governor Abiodun, deputy, speaker, aides go spiritual as Supreme Court judgment nears
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and his key cabinet members have sought divine intervention ahead of the Supreme Court’s final verdict in the ongoing governorship election dispute.
A video circulating online captured Abiodun, his deputy Noimot Salako-Oyedele, House Speaker Olakunle Oluomo, loyal aides, and other faithful members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) engaged in fervent prayer.
Led by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Toyin Taiwo, the group implored God’s favour for Abiodun and the party at the apex court.
There is tension as the Supreme Court judgement is set to decide whether Abiodun will continue in office. The governor’s victory in the March 18th election is being challenged by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Ladi Adebutu, who maintain that Abiodun did not secure the majority of valid votes.
