Ogun govt closes roads for Abiodun’s inauguration

The Ogun State Government has shut down some roads in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, in preparation for Governor Dapo Abiodun’s second term inauguration.
Abiodun’s inauguration holds today at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.
Consequently, the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE) Corps, informed the motoring public that there will be traffic rerouting inbound and outbound the stadium axis this morning.
The TRACE Corps spokesman, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the NNPC flyover would be cordoned-off for road users and traffic diverted underpass.
Akinbiyi stated that alternative routes and parking spaces will be mapped out and supervised by security and safety officials.
“There will be traffic diversion at NNPC to the right towards Abiola Way-Leme-Iyana/Mortuary for vehicles coming inbound Abeokuta from Sagamu/Interchange-Laderin-Okemosan axis,” Akinbiyi stated.
He explained that all buses coming from outside Abeokuta through the Sagamu/Interchange for the inauguration would be diverted at the NNPC to the right towards Abiola-Way-Leme Junction, to make a U-turn to the left inbound NNPC, before making a right turn to the stadium through the road/gate opposite Providence Hotel.
He added that there will be no access road for vehicles coming from Iyana/Mortuary towards NNPC, except those scheduled for the event.
Also, traffic from Kuto to the stadium and the NNPC would also be diverted towards IBB Boulevard-GTBank-CBN and Ibara Baptist Church.
The TRACE spokesman assured that it would work with other law enforcement agencies to reduce and avoid gridlock on all routes to and from the stadium.
