Okorocha’s kinsmen accuse governor of abandoning their community

– Okorocha’s kinsmen urge the governor to address the infrastructural decay in their community to forestall what they termed a looming disaster in the area

Kinsmen of Rochas Okorocha have accused the Imo state governor of abandoning their community in a worse state than he met it.

The people of Ideato north and south local council areas of Imo state made the allegation in a statement issued by the umbrella union of Mbanasa, Arondizogu, Nwabosi Association ( MANA), Vanguard reports.

The group alleged that under the watch of Okorocha, their community experienced grave infrastructural challenges. The community said the Ideato nation has been without electricity for the past seven years.

The people said the roads in their community are not only in terrible and impassable conditions, but have become a death trap.

The governor’s kinsmen also complained that their land was now under the threat of ecological disaster.

“This situation is largely owing to the abandonment of gully erosion projects and road construction sites. The World Bank Assisted gully erosion projects at Urualla and Umueshi communities in Ideato North and Ideato South local government areas, respectively, are cases in point,” they stated.

The MANA leadership urged Governor Okorocha to address the infrastructural decay in their community to forestall what they termed a looming disaster in the area.

Meanwhile, Chief Uche Nwosu, chief of staff and son-in-law to Imo state governor on Tuesday, November 13, said that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Hope Uzodinma, will not be governor.

Chief Nwosu who spoke to his supporters shortly after his arrival from Abuja, said that “Uzodinma is a tenant in the APC.”

Chief Nwosu who is laying claim to the governorship ticket of the party in the state, expressed confidence that the court will deliver judgement in his favor.

He dismissed the rumour that he had concluded plans to dump the APC for another party in order to realise his governorship ambition.
