“One Party System Loading?”- Nigerians Reacts As President Tinubu Appoints Okowa’s SSG And Ibori’s Close Ally To Juicy Position

In a surprising turn of events, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Chiedu Ebie, former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Delta State, as the Board Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Chiedu Ebie, known to be a close ally of political stalwart James Ibori, served under the leadership of the former Delta State Governor, Okowa. It is worth noting that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) suspended Ebie in April 2023 for alleged anti-party activities.

This latest appointment by President Tinubu has not only raised eyebrows but also spurred speculations about a potential shift towards a “one party system” in the country. Many recall that not too long ago, another PDP member, Victor Kolade Akinjo, received an appointment from Tinubu’s administration. Furthermore, with Nyesom Wike also being given a nod, it’s becoming increasingly evident that the lines between party affiliations are blurring.
Nigerians across different platforms have been sharing their opinions, with many curious about the strategy behind these appointments. Whether this is a move to foster national unity or a calculated political strategy remains a topic of debate.
