One person killed and three others were injured in a conflict between Delta community leaders

By Adeleye Kunle
Following the protracted leadership squabble that had rocked the community, one person was reportedly killed and three others were injured, Track News reports.
In the last three years, factions in the community have been at odds over issues arising from the election of a new executive committee to the Ofuoma Community Development Union.
The deceased, identified as Mr Felix Edenughe, who was the community’s Vice Youth Chairman until his death, was shot dead Saturday night as the leadership squabble turned violent.
The circumstances surrounding the killing were still murky at the time the report was filed.
“They shot four people, one of whom died,” a source said. The issue is a power struggle between the leaders. It began in 2019. The community has two quarters, one of which is responsible for producing the President-General.
“They did the screening and determined that some people were ineligible to run in the election.” So, even though the case is currently in court, they went to the police station along the way.
“They held the election, some people said they didn’t support it, and that has remained true to this day, and the community has been divided since then.”
“Previously, there was only one Okpakorere (most elderly man), but now there are two from both quarters.”
Mr Bright Edafe, the state command’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the killing yesterday.
