Oshiomhole vs Obaseki: Pastor Ize-Iyamu reveals when APC crisis will end

TRACKING___A
chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has assured that the crisis currently rocking the Edo State chapter of the party would end after the party’s primary election.
Ize-Iyamu said the crisis will be discussed and settled when a governorship candidate emerges at the forthcoming primary election in the state.
Addressing journalists in Benin, the Edo State capital, Ize-Iyamu assured that whoever emerged as APC governorship candidate in the forthcoming primary election would be given the necessary support.
He said: “I see the crisis in Edo APC as a small problem and every problem has expiry date.
“The expiry date for this crisis is when the nomination for the governorship ticket is done.
“You stop crisis by sitting down to discuss it. We have seen wars; major world wars and eventually you sit on the conference table and find what led to the war and agree on how to settle it.
“Several committees have been set up for the purpose of reconciliation and some persons have rejected it. So as it stands now it is only nomination that can end the crisis.
“The party will not postpone nomination process because people are quarreling, so when nomination forms are being sold and bought people will recognise authority.
“And if you think there is a faction and you boycott that will be your problem. Of course, it is only one name that will go to INEC. So the problem in APC will soon expire when the nomination is done.
APC in Edo state has been emerged in crisis, following the face-off between the governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki and the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole over who heads APC in the state.
Following the crisis in the party, former Minister of Information, Tony Momoh had insisted that Oshiomhole had no business interfering in the affairs of APC in Edo State because Obaseki was the leader of the party.
