Osun Govt Speaks On Oluwo’s Letter Demanding N20m From Oyetola To Wed Kano Princess
The Osun state government has debunked the widely-circulated letter written by Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, to the governor of the state, Gboyega Oyetola, to ask for the governor’s support for a planned wedding in Kano State.
A letter dated February 8, 2022, had gone viral on Friday that the monarch solicited money from Governor Oyetola for the Kano wedding.
The Press Secretary to Oluwo’s Palace, Alli Ibraheem, had denied the letter, saying it was fake and did not emanate from the palace of Oluwo.
However, the state government, in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode, corroborated Oluwo’s denial of the viral letter, saying the letter was a “fresh attempt by mischief makers to bring the governor and the government on a collision course with the citizens.”
