Osun police Apprehend suspected cultists, conspirators, thieves

Osun State Police Command has arrested four members of an unlawful society for attempted murder.
The identities of members of the gang, according to the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola while addressing journalists during a suspect parade in Osogbo on Wednesday are: Ibrahim Gbadamosi aka Gbedu, 32 year old Ibiyemi Saheed aka Mouth, 27 year old Ayandiya Yusuf aka Lakaye and 30 year old Ogunwole Najeem aka Agali.
Opalola said they were arrested at their hideout by operatives of the police anti-cultism squad.
On of investigation, she disclosed, it was discovered that the suspects had attempted to murder one Samuel Friday, in Iree town.
She added that investigation unraveled that they had invaded the promises of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree and attacked some staff and ran over and killed 46 year old female, Toyin Adetunji.
She said, “On 5th January, 2025 at about 00:30am, the above named notorious hoodlums suspected to be members of unlawful society also known as ABTC (Action Boxing Training Club) were arrested at their hideouts by the Police Detectives from Anti-Cultism.
“During the course of the investigation, it’s discovered that, on 12 November, 2024 the above named suspects made an attempt to murder one Samuel Friday ‘m’ of Iree town. Also, on 17th December, 2024 at about 10:00am, the above first suspect and others now at large invaded the premises of Osun State Polytechnic Iree and attacked some staff including the School Public Relations Officer and blocked the main entrance school gate.
“Similarly, the same first suspect, at about 8:30pm, dangerously drove a Toyota Camry with Reg. No. ABC 962 TD Abuja and killed one Mrs Toyin Adetunji ‘f’ about 46yrs old and ran away before he was arrested with his gang. Exhibits recovered from them are: some criminal charms and some dry weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa.”
Also paraded were four suspects who were nabbed for theft, obtaining by trick and conspiracy.
The suspects according to Opalola are: Adedayo Adesanya, Olansile Abdullateef, Olalere Gbenga and Muftau Balogun.
Exhibits found with Adesanya and Abdullateef were: one Toyota Venza with registration number, BDG 710 H, four bags of foreign rice, twelve tuners of yam, a bunch of banana, three different Opay cards and sole local chairman.
She revealed that the suspects had all confessed to the crime and would be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.
