Osun Poll: APC Encourages Residents to Vote Oyetola, Dispels Claims of Thugs Mobilizing for Election
By Adeleye Kunle
Sunday Akere, the spokesman for the Osun All Progressives Congress Gubernatorial campaign council, has denied that thugs have been mobilized to disrupt the state’s election on Saturday.
This comes after the opposition Peoples Democratic Party claimed that the APC had mobilized thugs across the state in preparation for the election.
According to a statement signed on Monday by the Osun PDP Chairman, Caretaker Transition Committee, Akindele Adekunle, the thugs imported from Lagos State were already lodged in various hotels throughout the state, including one very close to the Governor’s office in Abere.
In response to the allegations, Sunday Akere stated that the party is not known for violence but for holding proper elections and enticing residents to vote for Oyetola.
He also stated that the APC gubernatorial candidate does not engage in frivolous activities such as thuggery.
“The APC is not known for violence,” he said. Rather, it is known for holding proper elections and enticing residents to turn out in large numbers to vote for its candidate, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, and does not engage in frivolities such as thuggery.”
