Our Party Needs A United front As Ward, LGA, State And Zonal Party Congresses kick’s Off, Says Comr. Igali

Comr. Robert Igali, the Bayelsa State Coordinator of the APC National Youth Council ( NYC) says the APC in Bayelsa State needs a more united and an indivisible front as the process leading to the Ward, LGA, State and Zonal Congresses gets underway.
Comr. Igali stated this on Saturday, while playing host to a team of APC Young Volunteers from across the Eighth (8) LGA’s who paid in a solidarity visit in Yenagoa over his recent engagement, as head of the foremost Youth Support Group of the party in the state.
While appreciating the young party faithfuls for their show of love for him and the party, he noted that their sacrifice, commitment and loyalty to the party and the leadership of the party in the state and national would not go in vain.
His words: ” I thank you all for coming, from the introduction and what you expressed, you are a true reflection of our support base across the state. In every local government in the state, we have a solid, vibrant, effective and result oriented structure that can deliver votes for the party, so what we need to do as a party is to consolidate on it.
” Let me seize this auspicious moment to call on the leaders of the party in the state, His Excellency, Chief Timipre Sylva; Hon. Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Chief David Lyon; former Governor Elect Bayelsa State, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri; former Minister of State Agriculture and Natural Resources.
“National Assembly Members of the Party from the State, the leadership of the State Caretaker Committee, Political Office holders and appointees at the federal level, and other critical stakeholders of the party to come together and work in synergy for the good of the party.
“We are witnesses to what internal party crisis can cause. The Rivers and Zamfara State experience readily comes to mind. Without mincing words there is no love lost amongst our leaders and major stakeholders of the party in the state. There are lots of water that has past under the bridge.
” For the party to survive in the state, our leaders needs to sit down on a round table and iron out their differences. They need to come together to discuss ways of conducting the Ward, LGA and State Congresses peacefully and harmoniously. The burden of keeping the party afloat has been entrusted in them, they have no choice than to rise to the occasion.
” Our party needs to be on a solid footing in the state, so our work is cut out, you all have a role to play, let’s urge and appeal to our leaders to put aside their differences and work collectively. Working together in unison would positively rub off on everyone in the party, which would in the long run guarantee a favourable political outcome, he added.
