Oyo-Ita, senator, rep, 17 others receive awards for adding value to Cross River
Former Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita, Senator representing Cross River Southern Senatorial District, Gershom Bassey, and a House of Representatives member, Eta Mbora are amongst the 20 distinguished citizens who were bestowed with various awards for impacting the state, particularly the Aka Efa Community of Calabar Municipality.
Village Head of Akai Efa Community, Mrs Henrietta Efa-Akpera said the deserving awardees have been dedicated and persistent in rendering selfless, humanitarian services to the state and community.
Speaking during the presentation of the awards, she said, “their good works have added value to our community.”
Among the selfless services they rendered to the community, the traditional ruler listed the attraction of solar panel street lights to the community, rehabilitation of bad roads and failed culverts, and donation of some key infrastructural facilities such as school blocks and health care facilities.
The lawmaker representing Calabar Municipality State Constituency in the House of Assembly, Efa Esua who spoke on behalf of other awardees said, “this award would spur us to do more
