Engr. Aderemi Oseni, the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, has announced the sponsorship of the start of work on the Gbelede and Aretu bridges in the state.

According to the APC stalwart, the projects will cost around N100 million, and the bridges will connect seven communities to the outside world. Engr. Oseni was praised by community leaders who attended the groundbreaking ceremony yesterday.

Pa Lade Adesola, one of the leaders in Omi-Aretu Adio’s area, narrated the people’s agony over the years, but expressed profound gratitude to the APC House of Representatives candidate for bringing true relief to the residents of the community. The bridge is nearing completion and will be commissioned in the coming weeks by Sen. Teslim Folarin, the party’s governorship candidate in the state. Oseni stated that he chose to build the bridges for the benefit of his constituents, emphasizing that the bridges, as well as other projects and programs, were undertaken to alleviate people’s sufferings.

“Igisogba residents in Omi-Adio and Onidoko communities face mobility challenges due to the deplorable state of the roads.” The Gbelede bridge, which connects Oyo and Ogun states and is housed in Ward 10, has cut off more than 138 villages from free access to major markets in the neighborhood, impoverishing the communities. Similarly, the Aretu bridge will be motorable and will have a minimum life span of 50 years before any repairs are required. However, there is no constructed bridge connecting this community of over two thousand residents.

“I am committing about N100 million to the two projects, and I am happy to do it for my people because their welfare is my number one priority,” the APC House of Representatives candidate said.
