Pastor Chris Addresses Congregation After Fire Incident at Christ Embassy Headquarters

Lagos — Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the founder of LoveWorld, also known as Christ Embassy, has addressed his congregation for the first time since the fire incident at the church’s headquarters in Lagos. Early on Sunday morning, there was an incident at the church in Oregun, Ikeja.
During a live Sunday service at the church’s campground in Asese, Pastor Oyakhilome shared his perspective on the incident. He emphasized that what happened was not an accident but an opportunity for something greater.
“Nothing happens in the life of a child of God by accident,” Pastor Oyakhilome stated. He drew a parallel to the 2001 Ikeja cantonment bombing incident, recalling how the church building vibrated so much that they feared it would collapse.
At that time, he had resolved to build a bigger and better church if it did collapse. However, the building remained standing after the incident.
Now, in light of the recent fire, Pastor Oyakhilome expressed his determination to rebuild the church. “The devil will tend to his wounds, and we will build one that is larger, superior, and more splendid,” he declared.
The Lagos Fire Service responded promptly to the incident, with firefighters working to control the situation. They gave assurances to the public that the situation was under control.
As the congregation processes this unexpected event, Pastor Oyakhilome’s message of resilience and hope serves as a reminder of the church’s commitment to its mission and the strength of its community.
