Renowned advocate of peace, Barrister Paul Erove, has been described as one of Nigeria’s best.

“Barrister Paul Erove was a rare gem, pleasant, well-behaved, and courageous man who strongly believed in law as a tool for unity and growth of society” a statement by the family of Oyabevwe Diegholo, said on Thursday.

“The departure of Barrister Paul Erove is painful, and he will be missed by the entire family, friends and colleagues.”

A statement in Kokori, Ethiope East Local Government Area, described Paul Erove as a man of principle, a role model to many and unarguable a man of the people.

“Though we grieve at his passing away and are saddened by the loss of this huge iconic figure, we are at peace celebrating his exemplary and extraordinary life.

The statement signed by the family spokesperson, Mr Henry Ebireri, praised the astute intellectual, leader of repute and distinguished lawyer for using his training in the Western World, knowledge of the law and his experience at the bar to assist individuals and groups to safeguard their civil rights.

“We are consoled that your death is only a transition, which is the fate of humanity.”

The statement from the Agbon Kingdom also hailed Erove for his moral rectitude, selfless service and commitment to the family.

“Barrister Paul Erove was very loyal to his family, clients and friends. He will be remembered as a unique family man, compassionate friend and well-known figure that left an indelible mark in all spheres of life”, the statement added.
