PDP BROUHAHA: Ogbia Ward 9 Pass Vote Of Confidence On Alabh George Turnah

**Reaffirms His Position As Leader Of PDP In Ogbia Ward 9.

The leadership of the People’s Democratic party PDP in Ogbia ward 9, has passed a vote of confidence on the acting secretary of the PDP South -south zone Alabh George Turnah reaffirming their support for the leader of the party in Ogbia ward 9.

The Exco notes with great displeasure over what they describe as ignorance of the law binding the peoples democratic party which the state working committee allegedly displayed with the circulation of a press release of the supposed suspension of ALABH GEORGE TURNAH.

In a statement signed by all EXCO members of PDP Ogbia ward 9, narrates that according to the constitution of the party, it is only the ward executives that has the constitutional powers to suspend members from the party, which has automatically trashed the so called suspension of the illustrious son of Ogbia kingdom.

“Our attention has been drawn to a paper being circulated in the social media and announcements on some radio stations in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State purporting that the State Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party has suspended the leader of the Party in Ogbia Ward 9 and Acting South South Zonal Secretary of the Party in
the person of George Turnah, MON.

For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to
emphatically state the following:

1. Hon. George Turnah, MON is the leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbia Ward 9, and he so remains.

2. We welcome and endorse the appointment of Hon. George Turnah as Acting Secretary of the party, South South Zone, by the Zonal Executive Committee and congratulate him for his successful swearing in and assumption of office. We are confident that he will perform exceptionally well and provide quality secretarial service to the Party in the Zone and beyond.

3. We therefore pass a vote of confidence on the person of Hon. George Turnah, MON, and pledge our unalloyed support and loyalty to his leadership and office.

4. By the Constitution of the People’s Democratic Party, only the Ward Executive Committee can suspend the membership of Hon. George Turnah, and not the State Working Committee. We therefore reject an’ condemn the purported
suspension of our leader, Hon. George Turnah, MON by the Bayelsa State Working Committee of the Party as they do not possess any such powers under the Constitution of the Party to suspend an officer higher in Rank than all of them in
the State Working Committee.

5. We view the purported suspension of the Zonal Acting Secretary by his juniors in office as a reckless act done in brazen breach of the Party’s Constitution. We call on higher organs of the Party to note this breach of the Party’s Constitution by the Bayelsa State Working Committee and take appropriate action.

The statement reads that any further attempt by lower organs and junior officers of the Pary
in Bayelsa State to disrespect the Acting South South Zonal Secretary and leader of the Party in Ogbia Ward 9 will attract very dare consequences including mass defection from the Party. The statement reads.
