PDP Chairman, Secondus Visits Babangida

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Uche Secondus thursday visited Minna, the Niger State capital to meet with former military President, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd).
Secondus arrived Minna International Airport in a chattered aircraft at about 3.p.m.
He was met at the airport by some personal aides of the former military president and driven to his uphill residence with two vehicles in the convoy – a black Prado jeep and a Toyota Camry saloon.
The Toyota Camry conveyed four security men two in front and two at the back while the SUV was tinted making impossible the number of occupants in it. He arrived at Babangida’s residence at about 3.34 p.m. and was immediately ushered into the sitting room where the former military ruler was already waiting.
The private meeting reportedly commenced immediately and continued as at press time.
The purpose of the meeting was not disclosed but it might not be unconnected with forthcoming national convention of the party where a presidential candidate for next year’s election would be picked.
Among those eyeing the presidency come 2019 under the platform of the PDP are former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, a former Minister, Alhaji Kabiru Turaki, former Sokoto State governor, Attahiru Bafarawa, former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Alhaji Sule Lamido who is a former Jigawa State governor and Alhaji Ahmed Makarfi, a former Kaduna State governor.
