PDP Crisis: Atiku Set To Reconcile With Wike

By Doris Israel Ijeoma
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar on Thursday promised to hold a reconciliation meeting with the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.
Atiku stated this a few hours after returning to Nigeria to support the governorship candidate of the PDP in Osun State, Ademola Adeleke in the party’s rally.
The former vice president while speaking on the grievances of Governor Wike and some PDP leaders said it’s nothing new in politics.
The PDP presidential candidate stated this on Thursday while addressing newsmen.
Atiku when asked for his reaction to the calls for the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu to step down over claims that the party is northernised said, “I don’t agree with that, PDP is not Northernised.”
Speaking on the differences between the Wike camp and Atiku camp in the main opposition party, the former vice president said, “It’s a social media drama, there is nothing like a Wike camp or Atiku camp, there is one PDP family.”
The PDP presidential candidate when asked if he has plans to reconcile with the Rivers State Governor, he said, “why not I am open to that.”
Atiku was in the company of the party’s National Chairman, his running mate and Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa and other party leaders.
