PDP crisis gets worse, BoT meets with Ortom and Fintiri

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
The Peoples Democratic Party persisted in its efforts on Sunday to make amends with all the resentful parties in order to win the general elections in 2023.
On Sunday, the party’s leadership was already present at the home of Prof. Jerry Gana, a former minister of information and orientation.
The reconciliatory team would arrive on Monday (today) in Adamawa State to speak with Governor Ahmadu Fintiri before traveling to Benue State to meet with Governor Samuel Ortom.
These were said by Adolphus Wabara, the former president of the Senate and interim head of the PDP Board of Trustees, in an interview with The PUNCH.
We will travel to Adamawa State tomorrow (today) to meet with Governor Fintiri, after which we will meet with Governor Ortom, he said. I’m currently traveling to see Professor Jerry Gana. We will do everything in our power to bring about peace and bring about our victory in 2023.
“We’ll calm frayed tempers and present something that everyone can agree upon.
He was responding to inquiries about the results of his recent trip to the South West and whether the party would change its bylaws so soon to allow for the ouster of Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP’s national chairman.
“After our meeting with Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, I won’t say we are moving forward, but we are talking to our governors and the parties involved,” he continued. We should compromise, give and take, and appease, but I can’t speak definitively because I haven’t informed the BoT members. We need to consult with our members, and whatever we decide will represent the BoT’s viewpoint.
Last week, the former Senate president began taking action to prevent the main opposition group from disintegrating.
He said that he would be meeting with three of the PDP governors who were upset within the next 48 hours, together with a group from the PDP Board of Trustees that would also include previous governors, deputy governors, ministers, and other key party figures.
After Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president, won the PDP’s presidential primary and became the party’s nominee, the PDP has been mired in a serious internal conflict.
